Long time, no post

Okay, I really haven't paid much attention to this blog in a while.  And probably won't be doing it too much.  But in case you are one of the 1-2 people per day who somehow gets here (that's actually an accurate number), you can read my regular blog here.

Find out about my published novels here.

There are some hurricanes coming, by the way!

The storm that wasn't

Forecasters predicted a big nor'easter this past Sunday, maybe even a blizzard. Well, it ended up dumping all over Detroit and largely missing us in the NYC area. We got maybe an inch or two of snow overnight and a little rain the next day.

Still, the barometer dropped overnight from 30.1 inch to 29.4, which is pretty low. By the end of the day, it had started to inch its way back up.

I doubt I'll put too many updates on the barometer blog anymore, seeing as I occasionally put weather shots on my regular blog. For instance, last Thursday's ice storm inspired one. So check it out!

New low!

The barometer reached a new low during the storm -- 28.95 inches. It dropped a full half inch from the night before. I'd never actually seen it lower than 29 before. (Did anyone ever see the episode of "Happy Days" where the barometer drops to 28 and that means a tornado is coming? It made a big impression on me). Anyway, thanks for indulging my nerdiness.

Update

At 6:31 p.m., the barometer is at 29.45. Very low. I know you were on the edge of your seat.

Acting Gov. Codey advised people to stay inside tonight, read, spend time with the family, and watch the Sopranos.

Nor'easter is nigh

From Wunderground.com:

A major spring Nor'easter with the capability of causing damage equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane may develop Sunday off the U.S. East Coast.

Right now, my trusty barometer is at 30.01...I forsee it dropping as the weather becomes unstable tomorrow. It could be verrrrry interesting weather!

Rainy day

There's a fierce rainstorm outside, and when I left, the barometer was 29.6 inches and still falling.

Ice, ice, baby

The barometer dropped approximately .6 inches overnight, which is a lot.

Not much snow, but lots of ice.

Update at last

I have been a bad, bad blogger. No updates in December, and just in the nick of time in January. Well, there has been very little snow, and nothing too interesting.

There was high barometric pressure for a few days earlier this month (31 inches!) probably causing you to wake up with a minor headache. But that was a week or two ago.

The barometer is about 30 inches in my room now, right in the middle, nothing much happening.

February is generally when we get blizzards, so let's see if that happens.

High

Yesterday, my barometer reached what might have been its highest high ever: 30.4 inches. High air pressure can give some people headaches.

Update

The weather forecasters said that it WOULD have been called a nor'easter, except that it came from the south.

Ohhh!!!!
