Accuweather predicts high winds tonight, and there may be some thunder!

** Blizzard of '05 update part II * *

At 7:30 p.m., the barometer in my room reads 29.78 and is falling.

Isn't this the nerdiest thing in the world?

Oh yeah? You want to step outside and say that?!

Blizzard of '05 update...

The barometer was 30.00 inches at 1 p.m.

It is 29.91 inches at 5 p.m.

The snow has been falling steadily since around 12:20.

The barometer in my room is 30.00 inches.

Is there really a snow storm this weekend? These Accuweather folks say so, but it's a little early, no?

We have some entrants into our blizzard contest:

Mr. Rumored says: I will put my money on February 12th. The record for snow on that day is 8.5 inches in 1897, but I have a feeling.

Adam says: February 11.

What will they win? Hmmm. A link on my other blog maybe? What a prize!

About eight hours ago, the barometer was way high at 30.48 inches. It is almost never that high in my room. But now it is 30.15 and still falling. I guess a lower pressure system is sweeping through, although 30.15 is not that low.

When's it gonna snow, boy? When's it gonna snow?

I should run a blizzard sweepstakes. Pick a day in February. You can e-mail me via the link on my main page. Only pick one day. I have dibs on Feb. 14 (and not because it's Valentine's Day - it's just a feeling.) Can you see it? The Valentine's Day blizzard.

The way things are going, we could easily get one on March 14...
